Jan Štolba a Zdeněk Konopásek spolu kdysi dávno hráli v Kvartetu dr. Konopného, tedy v kapele, kterou vedl herec, performer a "poslední pražský bohém" Radomil Uhlíř. Když se pak po mnoha letech potkali na Uhlířově pohřbu, v roce 2019, domlouvali setkání. K tomu nakonec došlo až v květnu 2023. Pustili se do hraní bez jakékoli přípravy a všechno pokusně a svépomocně nahráli. Zdejší album je takřka úplným záznamem toho hudebního odpoledne.

Jan Štolba je český jazzový saxofonista s mnoha žánrovými přesahy, kdysi začínal v Originálním pražském synkopickém orchestru, působil i ve sdružení Mozart K Oldřicha Janoty anebo ve skupině Krásné nové stroje. V současnosti hraje s kvartetem kytaristy Jaroslava Šindlera, případně vede svůj vlastní jazzový kvartet. Zabývá se i literaturou a filmem, vydal asi devět knih básní, prózy a kritiky.

Zdeněk Konopásek je bubeník a sociolog. V 80. letech nadvakrát spoluzaložil kapelu Dvouletá fáma, byl členem souboru Zátory a spolupracoval s Oldřichem Janotou. V současnosti je členem kapely Kolna a druhým bubeníkem karlovarských Fish, Flesh, Field & Henry $. S Lubošem Fidlerem udržuje naživu projekt Noční pták a už dlouho jako hudebník působí v improvizačním Divadle Vizita. Příležitostně bubnuje solo. Viz zdenek.konopasek.net.

Jan Štolba and Zdeněk Konopásek first played together in Dr. Konopný's Quartet, lead by the actor, performer and the "Last Bohemian" Radomil Uhlíř. Some years later they met at Radomil's funeral, in 2019, and they promised each other to get together again soon. But the meeting didn't take place until 2023. Then, one afternoon in May, they finally gathered in a home studio outside of Prague and started to improvise without any preparation. The session was recorded and this album contains almost everything put down on tape during that musical afternoon.

Jan Štolba is a Czech jazz saxplayer with many genre overlaps. He started out in the Original Prague Syncopated Orchestra, later he was a member of gothic folk-rock group Mozart K lead by Oldřich Janota, and of the art rock group Krásné nové stroje. Currently he has a jazz quartet with the guitarist Jaroslav Šindler, as well as ocassionally performing with Australian bassist Nick Haywood, whenever Nick is in Prague. He is also a writer and literary essayist, has published about nine books of poetry, prose and criticism, and lately ventures into art filmmaking.

Zdeněk Konopásek is a drummer and sociologist. In the 1980s he co-founded the band Dvouletá fáma. Later on, he was member of the band Zátory and collaborated with Oldřich Janota. Currently he plays drums in the band Kolna and is the second drummer of the band Fish, Flesh, Field & Henry $. With Luboš Fidler, he keeps alive the project Noční pták (Night Bird). As a musician he has participated for many years in improvised theatre performances called Vizita and occasionally he plays improvised solo performances on his drum set.
